"Like Mother, Like Son?" on NPR
In other news, Mark is producing a new local show for NPR called "Like Mother, Like Son?" with Ramsay and Patricia Adams. It is a 30-minute arts and culture show, where mother and son interview some of the best talents in the New York region. So far, we are broadcasting on two NPR affiliates in the Catskills, with hopes for more.

Sutton Music Has New Recording Space
Mark has recently joined the Manhattan Producers Alliance, a studio located in the heart of Manhattan on 36th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. This is where Mark records Morey's Minute, edits Like Mother, Like Son, and works on other film, television, and radio projects.
PIZZA PIZZA!
Pizza: The Movie is playing at film festivals across the country this spring and summer.
Mark contributed original music to this feature-length documentary, did sound design, and mixed the audio. A video sample will be available soon!

I recently provided music for a Quaker Instant Oats commercial and for a non-profit video for Evergreen, which provides materials for rural Chinese schools. In addition to the "Roboto Supremo" series, I am also working with Victor Varnado on an animated short "The Happy Dog" which is executive produced by Dave Thomas of SCTV and Strange Brew fame. The feature film Following Bliss premiered at the Global Arts Film Festival in LA, where it won the award for "Oustanding Narrative Feature." It is also screening at a number of other festivals.
I am currently working on an animated short called "Li'l Juniors Midlife Crisis" with my brother Ward, who recently published a book of his comic strip Sutton Impact which appears in the Village Voice and a number of other publications throughout the country.
Roboto Supremo on Channel 102
Mark scored the hilarious series Roboto Supremo, written and directed by Victor Varnado (IMDB bio, Victor's Best Albino site), which has been a success at the new Channel 102 series.

Roboto Supremo Wins Audience Award
Episodes #1 and #2 were screened on Sunday, April 10, 2005 at the Pioneer Theater as part of the First Sundays Comedy Film Festival. Each month, the audience votes for its favorite film, and this month Roboto Supremo won!
Mark Interviewed for Jazziz Magazine
Jazziz magazine interviewed Mark as well as other composers (including Terence Blanchard) for an article on jazz and film scoring (February 2005 issue). "New York Feeds Me" wins Telly Award
The PSA scored by Mark Sutton, featuring Harrison Ford, won a 2003 Telly Award for post-production.
"Terence Ziegler of Rhinoceros Editorial cut the spot. He stresses that the simple concept was illuminated by the artistic instincts of those involved. 'The director, Timothy White, is quite a renowned photographer, and his visual strength really shows,' says Ziegler. 'And cinematographer Stuart Dryburgh (Kate & Leopold, Analyze This) is brilliant. "Trex" Wins Audience Award
"The Adventures of Trex, Blind Dater" trilogy won the audience award at the First Sundays film festival. Unfortunately, "Radio Chick" was not renewed after its first season on The Metro Channel, but Trex lives on! Mark co-created Trex with his brother Ward, whose web site is: www.suttonimpactstudio.com

"The Adventures of Trex, Blind Dater" Follow Trex, a 35-year-old video game and Sci-Fi enthusiast who still lives with his parents, as he explores New York through blind dating. Brothers Ward and Mark Sutton co-produce and co-write the animation, with Mark taking care of music and sound, and Ward handling the art and animation.
First episode: "2Hot2Handle" See a Craig's List Hook-Up! Rudy's Bar and Grill! And Mayor Bloomberg! Need we say more? It aired as a segment of the program, "Radio Chick on the Prowl" on Metro TV (Channel 70 on NYC Time Warner Cable, 60 on Cablevision). Three episodes were produced for the series.
Following Bliss - the Movie
Mark scored the feature film, "Following Bliss," which premiered at the Global Arts Film Festival in LA, where it won "Best Narrative Feature." It has been shown at the Long Island International Film Expo, The Houston Black Film Festival, Stratford Upon Avon Digitial Film Festival, Martha's Vineyard African-Amercian Film Festival, Great Lakes Independent Film Festival, Roxbury Film Festival, Motor City International Film Festival, and has been selected for the New York African Diaspora Film Festival.
The film was directed by Cleve Lamison, and stars Ellen Bethea (also known as Dr. Janelle Anderson on All My Children) and Sean Patrick Reilly (young King Benny in Barry Levinson's Sleepers.)
Bits and Briefs
Mark scored three television commercials for ESAG (European Security Advocacy Group), that aired in Europe.

"Hopkins Westwind Overture," Mark's original concert band piece, was performed in Minneapolis on June 1, 2003 to a sold out house. Don Bates conducted the Hopkins Westwind Concert Band in their 20th Anniversary concert.
“Twenty Minutes of Immortality” has been picked up by the Independent Film Channel (IFC) for three years! Congratulations to author/actress Stephanie Sellars and Director Mitchell Bard. Not only did I write the score for this great short film, I have a cameo!
"Zog's Place" won the Audience Award at the First Sundays Comedy Film Festival, and has been accepted at several other festivals, including the Sarasota Film Festival in Florida.
5 Seconds of K2 In a collaboration with Sutton Impact Studio, Mark completed the music and sound design for a 5 second TV logo for K2 Productions. K2, which produced the Comedy Central series "Strangers with Candy," also produced the September 11th Memorial Concert, hosted by Tom Brokaw, on NBC.
Dance! Choreographer Jennifer J. Holt of Minneapolis staged a full evening performance of "Marriage at the Panopticon," set to Mark Sutton's eponymous CD. The performances took place at the Red Eye Theatre in Minneapolis. Order a copy of the CD for only $5 at MusicForDozens.com
